A stunning and absolutely mesmerising authentic 1930s Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring resembling an open blue eye. The round cut Burma sapphire centerpiece measuring 7x7x3.45mm has an estimated weight of 1.05 Cts.And possesses an absolutely fine vivid cornflower Royal blue color and gemological characteristics for the sapphires that came out of the Kashmir mine of that time. This natural sapphire was inspected by an HRD certified gemologist and was estimated to be in the VVS clarity range for a Type II gem stone. It has some minor natural inclusions and characteristics (see attached images) that are very typical for the Kashmir pieces and the color is simply fantastic.
The characteristics of the inclusions point to an untreated and unheated gem, which makes it even more valuable. Kashmir colored sapphires are highest praised of all. The round center sapphire is surrounded by an eye shaped cluster of 28 round old European and single cut diamonds having a superb average F white color and VS1 clarity. Total estimated diamond weight is about 1.60 carats. The ring is hallmarked 750 for 18K white gold with a gross weight of 5 grams and ring size of 55 (US size 7.25 / UK size O), but can be resized.
